From June 11 to 12, 2009, the 3rd Symposium on the Entrepreneurship - Innovation - Marketing Interface and the 2nd BIEM-Symposium on Entrepreneurship and Innovation took place at Radisson SAS Hotel Cottbus, Germany (see Photo Gallery). We thank all participants and guests, the plenary speakers, Prof. Autio and Prof. Kratzer, and all other speakers and co-authors, the supporters, the program committee, the local organizers as well as the whole team for their valuable contributions!

Opening: Prof. Baier, Prof. Reger, Prof. Missler-Behr, Prof. Wagner, Prof. Autio, Prof. Gaul, Prof. Viehweger, Prof. Leyens

The joint conference was a great success: There were 53 talks and 194 registered participants coming from more than 15 countries (see Final Program). Presentations of entrepreneurship activities in the field of mobile collaborative working (in the foyer and by firm presentations) provided additional insights (Kick Off of the BMBF ForMaT-project "Platform for Mobile Collaborative Applications"). Actually, the Call for Papers for the post-proceedings volume is open (deadline: August 31, 2009).

The joint conference (see Conference Flyer and Conferece Poster) was organized by the Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) Cottbus, the Brandenburg Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small & Medium-Sized Enterprises (BIEM), and the University of Karlsruhe (TH) and provided an excellent opportunity

  • to present and debate results for entrepreneurial problems,
  • to discuss questions with a focus on the interface between Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Marketing,
  • to encourage reports on experiences in creating and managing new ventures,
  • to support cooperation between entrepreneurs and scientists and
  • to stimulate cross-disciplinary activities.
Opening: Dr. Komusiewicz (State Secretary, MWFK), Mrs. Bretschneider (MW), Prof. Gaul, Dr. Münch (Member of Parliament), Prof. Wagner, Prof. Missler-Behr, Prof. Reger, Mr. Diensberg (BIEM e.V.), Prof. Autio, Prof. Baier

The Joint Conference followed the 1st and 2nd Symposia on the Entrepreneurship - Innovation - Marketing Interface at the University of Karlsruhe (2003, 2005) and the 1st BIEM-Symposium on Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Potsdam (2008) and provided an excellent opportunity for participants with different backgrounds to exchange ideas and update their knowledge in entrepreneurship science (see Photo Gallery).

The next BIEM-Symposium will take place in Potsdam in June 2010.
